Grow Your Own!
The Grow Your Own Stage is the place to come if you want some tips on home-grown fruit, veg and herbs.
Drop by and listen to the experts and regular magazine contributors including Alan Titchmarsh, Rachel de Thame, Clare Matthews, Toby Buckland, Jane Moore and Anne Swithinbank as they give practical demonstrations and advice, as well as the chance to hear from Adam Pasco and Kevin Smith from Gardeners' World Magazine- see below for full timetable details.
The popularity of the institution that is ‘the allotment’ has increased tenfold in recent years. This trend has been embraced by a local group of volunteers who we have challenged to re-create elements of Joe Swift's London based allotment which viewers will see evolving on the Friday night BBC 2 programme over the coming months. So come along and find out whether they’ve had any success and pick up some tips for your own plot at the same time.
You can also visit our living ornamental orchard, featuring local fruit varieties including plums, as well as apple and pear varieties that Monty Don has planted at Berryfields - you can follow the progress of his orchard on Friday nights on BBC 2 at 8pm. While Monty has started his collection with 1 year old maidens, our trees will be older and more establised, so you'll have a glimpse into the future of how Berryfields might look in 2011!
The Grow Your Own area is located next to Picnic Hill, sponsored by Uvistat - see the floor plan for more information.
