BBC Gardeners' World Live took place alongside the BBC Summer Good Food Show. With live demonstrations from James Martin, Rachel Allen and the Hairy Bikers, plus hundreds of delicious food & drink products to taste and enjoy, the BBC Summer Good Food Show was a perfect compliment to BBC Gardeners' World Live and will really help you make the most of your outdoor spaces this summer.

Entertain outside

What better way to make the most of your garden than by enjoying al fresco dining and entertaining? At the BBC Summer Good Food Show visitors found a delicious selection of picnic ideas and seasonal treats to enjoy outside with friends and family. Plus with the drinks, fine wines, beer and spirits area they could pick up tips on choosing refreshing wines and cool cocktails to accompany those lovely long summer evenings.

As keen gardeners we all know that there's nothing better than growing your own fruit and veg and at the BBC Summer Good Food Show and BBC Gardeners' World Live visitors found the ideal combination of expert advice, exhibitors, and inspiration to produce truly tasty produce in their own back garden.

Fine dining

There was so much to see at the Shows, visitors really made a day of it! NEW in 2010 was the MasterChef Restaurant, with a menu inspired by the popular TV series, and returning for another year was the Toque D'Or Competition Restaurant where the chefs of tomorrow impressed visitors with their delicious dishes. A family day out

The combination of food and gardening means that the combined Shows were a fantastic place to teach kids where their food comes from, how it's grown, and why fresh, healthy food is the most delicious there is! With plenty to see and taste, plus kids activities at the weekend, the Shows were a fantastic family day out.

We loved watching Joe Swift in Celebrity MasterChef last year, so we were really excited about The MasterChef Experience, a brand new feature that came to the BBC Summer Good Food Show this year. We watched previous series winners battle it our in live cook-offs in the Summer Kitchen, learnt from the experts in MasterChef masterclasses and even showed off our own culinary talent in the Invention Test.
