To Make Them Truly Ours

Richard’s main objective was to create a design that will inspire others to find ‘themselves’ in their own garden designs – a design that they truly love and would like to create without influence of others or expectation of others, a design that is devoid of fashion or trend, a design that speaks truly ‘me’.

By thinking about the things that make him happy, he was able to focus on ‘nature’, sustainability’ ‘colour’ and ‘scent’. The plants chosen are plants that make him happy and follow the focus points above. Despite studying many wonderful garden designers over the years and taken many influences, for this design, in order for it to truly be ‘My Garden Escape’, Richard had to almost remove the influences of these designers in order to find himself.

‘My Garden Escape’ is a place he can be himself and let the creativity of this be the healer; to help take anxiety in his stride and to help him stop and take a breath.
