BBC Gardeners' World Live

Here at BBC Gardeners' World Live HQ, achievable inspiration is a mantra. The Show Gardens that we lovingly bring to life each year are the projects of very real, and extremely good, garden designers who all have exceptional ideas of how you can make the most of your space.

The five gardens in the APL Avenue this year have just been confirmed. The best bit about these Show Gardens is that as each landscapers is a member of the Association of Professional Landscapers, APL, we know their Show Gardens (all of an average front or back garden size) will be crafted using accessible materials, achievable ideas and realistic budgets.

We have a Show first within this category - the first ever Hipster Garden! Living Gardens 'It's Not Just About the Beard' Garden takes inspiration from industrial themed bars and clubs, with a floating lounge platform, outdoor bar and a steel woodburner to sit around and while away the wee hours.

Here are a few of the great ideas for small gardens that you could take home from last year's APL Show Gardens:
