Danielle Gallacher’s unique journey into horticulture began in the world of professional skateboarding before transitioning into a flourishing career as a gardener and nature educator.
With an unwavering passion for the natural world, Danni has dedicated her life to exploring the profound connection between humans and the surrounding landscapes.
Having immersed herself in the art of foraging and wild food for over two decades, Danni possesses an impressive wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field. Her extensive experience as a forager, spanning 21 years, has equipped her with an intimate understanding of nature’s bountiful offerings and the delicate balance required to sustainably engage with the environment.
In 2017, Danni started designing and cultivating an edible food forest in a city centre allotment as a way of deepening her relationship and understanding of plants. Drawing inspiration from permaculture and biodynamic principles, her approach is rooted in an organic and sustainable ethos that celebrates the inherent interconnectedness of all living beings.
Danni’s passion for nature extends beyond gardening. She has long been captivated by the healing power of the natural world and is an ardent advocate for nature therapy and green space learning. In addition to her work as a forager and gardener, Danni is a leading host of nature therapy retreats, recognising not only the profound healing potential that lies within the woodland, but also the impact that green spaces can have on the learning process. By seamlessly blending her expertise in foraging, skateboarding and her deep understanding of the therapeutic benefits of nature connectedness, Danni has established herself as a sought-after facilitator of transformative experiences.
