‘Roots to Fruit’ is a not-for-profit social enterprise established in 2013 by childhood friends Jon Ensell and Adam Holder. They deliver education and therapy through horticulture, gardening and the natural world to a diverse group of people.
With close links to the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and specifically their ‘Go Landscape’ initiative, Roots to Fruit will be showcasing the myriad of career opportunities that exist in landscape gardening, and will be offering taster sessions at which visitors can experience first-hand some of the skills that can be mastered in the field.
‘Roots to Fruit’ are getting involved with various aspects of the Show. Keep an eye out for their Beautiful Border, where the design, construction and cultivation of the plants has been undertaken by every person involved with Roots to Fruit. Alongside this, Roots to Fruit have 6 of their schools be entering the School Wheelbarrow Competition.
To continue their theme of education, as part of the Children's Trail, Roots to Fruit will be installing a mini allotment in which visitors – specifically children - can drop-in and try their hand at various gardening techniques with the RtF Practitioners there to instruct and guide.
