Keeping you Safe at the Spring Fair

Social distancing and safety measures at our events due in response to COVID-19

Your safety and the safety of everybody attending this year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair is of the utmost importance to us.  We want you to have a great day out, enjoying your visit with confidence knowing we have the safety of our visitors, exhibitors and staff at our highest priority.

This year we are taking some extraordinary measures in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and we know that all of you will join us in making sure we can enjoy a fantastic event.  We will be operating within government guidance to ensure we are COVID-19 Secure and we will continually review our approach as and when this guidance is amended.  Please note the following which will help everybody stay safe and well.

How we will keep you safe:

  • If necessary please follow the government’s Stay At Home Guidance.  This applies to those individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 –
    • a new continuous cough,
    • a high temperature and
    • loss of taste/smell
    • live in a household or are in a support bubble with someone who has symptoms, and those that have been advised to self-isolate as part of the government’s test and trace service or owing to a recent return (within 10 days) from a country that does not feature on the exempt countries and territories list.
  • We will be limiting the overall number of visitors and exhibitors in attendance at our events and asking people to identify their preferred arrival time when they book tickets to manage the number of people within the event and to ensure a comfortable environment for all.
  • We have increased and enhanced our cleaning regime to ensure that toilets, seating areas and the general event is cleaned on a far more regular basis.
  • Unless medically exempt face coverings are compulsory in all indoor spaces at Beaulieu as per the current Government guidance.
  • Our food outlets are independently audited to ensure the highest quality of health and hygiene on site and during the event they will be individually monitored by a food safety manager.
  • Exhibiting companies will be asked to undertake an enhanced risk assessment to ensure they are COVID-19 secure in line with government guidance
  • There are a number of areas around the event where queuing systems will be in operation.  These have been designed to promote visitors maintaining 2m distance between each other.  Please respect each other and follow the signage directions as well as the our staff.
  • Hand sanitiser and/or hand washing facilities will be provided throughout the venue and we encourage all visitors and exhibitors to regularly utilise them.
  • Signage will be in place to remind everybody at the event to be aware of Hands, Face, Space and generally to act in a way which will reduce the risk of any transmission.
  • This year, we are going digital with show floorplans and information. We will be emailing this to you prior to the event, which will also help you plan your day!
  • We will also have the show map available, via a QR code, which will be able to be downloaded on site to help you navigate the Fair.
  • Contactless payment will be encouraged (along with contactless ticket scanning)
  • As previously mentioned we will be looking to update our approach as and when the Government guidance changes.

How you can help

  • Remember!

Hands, Face, Space

This is as true today as it was at the start of the pandemic!

  • Wherever possible, ensure you follow public health guidelines whilst in public spaces
  • Practice appropriate social distancing from fellow visitors, exhibitors and staff wherever possible
  • Use the hand-sanitiser and/or wash hands regularly throughout your visit
  • Please do not visit if you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19
  • To ensure we practise appropriate social distancing there may be increased waiting times and queuing throughout various aspects of your visit.  We ask you to be as patient as possible
