Plant Crèche service, run by Maggie’s Centre

The Plant Creche at the Spring Fair gives you the opportunity to drop off your plants, and all your shopping, in a safe and secure area at the Fair and collect them at the end of your visit, so you can enjoy all the fun of the fair bag-free! The friendly and helpful Maggie’s team are on hand to coordinate and assist you.

We recommend a discretionary donation of £1 per item that is left at the Plant Crèche and £3 for the Porter Service. All proceeds will be donated to Maggie’s Centre.

We recommend visitors also bring Bags for Life to help reduce the need for plastic bags.

Maggie’s Centre provide free practical, emotional and social support to anyone with any type of cancer, and to their family and friends too, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks and her oncology team. Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie’s are thoughtful, practical places built specifically for those with cancer, where professional staff are on hand to offer the support people need throughout their cancer experience, from diagnosis to return to work or bereavement, Maggie’s fills an ever-growing need.

Maggie’s Centre in Southampton, based in the grounds of University Hospital Southampton, opened in 2021 supporting Hampshire, Dorset, the Channel Islands and beyond. It is where you will find a ‘home-from-home’ close to the oncology wards where visitors can relax before or after appointments, seek advice from professional staff, and a space where conversations and emotions can be expressed freely with people who understand.
