Heath and Health
Designed by Helen Milne, Wild Places Garden Design
Pulse slows and shoulders fall – spending time in the countryside hugely benefits our mental and physical wellbeing.
‘Heath and Health’ provides a garden escape to Dorset heathland, coaxing you out into the Spring garden.
Ground-level seating brings you down into the planting, encouraging mindful focus on the delicate flowers and rustle of the leaves. Easy maintenance gravel dressing and the still water of the birdbath symbolise the forest pathways and brackish pools.
The restrained palette of calming greens and textures provide year-round structure and interest. Birch, butcher’s broom, ivies, ferns, and dwarf pine form a naturalistic scheme suitable for compact urban plots.
