We welcome disabled visitors to The NEC for BBC Gardeners' World Live.

Companions are admitted for FREE

If you need to bring a companion, assistant or guider with you to the show to maximise your enjoyment, then that carer will be admitted free of charge. Please make this clear to the Box Office when you book your tickets - they will be happy to help!

Assistance Dogs

Guide, assistance and hearing dogs are admitted into the show. 

Gardeners’ World Theatre seats for visitors with disabilities 

Visitors with special requirements should book theatre seats by calling the Box Office to ensure the best possible seating arrangements. Spaces are available for wheelchair users and carers in all BBC Gardeners’ World Live Theatre sessions, available exclusively by calling 0844 388 0341. 

Sign Language Interpreted Sessions

There will be signed sessions throughout the show in our main theatres and stages. Please refer to the individual theatre timetables, where they will be clearly marked with ‘S’ for your information once available.

Booking Your Tickets

All disabled visitors attending BBC Gardeners’ World Live are advised to inform the Box Office operators at the time of booking tickets if they require a wheelchair space, or have any special requirements. They will also help you find the most convenient seating for visually impaired visitors. The Box Office will also have details of the days and times of demonstrations with sign language interpreters.

Please note that all ticket sales are allocated on a first come first served basis.

Wheelchair hire

The NEC has manual wheelchairs available for hire which are bookable by phone on 01353 778756 or via   www.bartrams.net. Their phone lines are open 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Access & Parking

If travelling by train disembark at Birmingham International Station. Access to The NEC is via the skywalk. All levels of The NEC are accessible to wheelchair users, via ramps or lifts. The Atrium & piazza entrances have automatic doors. For anyone visiting by car, for any vehicles displaying blue badges, parking is charged at a rate of £12 per day per car and is situated in carpark North 1B, there will be signs directing disabled visitors to this loacation. Additional parking is also available in the main car parks and are serviced by free shuttle buses which are accessible to wheelchairs. On arrival at The NEC, traffic officers will also be able to direct you to the main disabled parking area for the show. Find out  more information here.

Hard of Hearing

Induction loops are fitted to Ticket sales points, Information points, all show feature demonstration areas, Press Office and the Organisers' Office.

Certain BBC Gardeners' World Live Theatre sessions have Sign Language interpreters, look for the (S) symbol on the timetables. 

Additionally, the BBC Gardeners' World Live Theatre has dedicated seats for visitors that are hard of hearing. Please notify the Box Office if these seats would benefit you.

Toilets

The NEC has Male and Female wheelchair accessible toilets.

Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency please notify a member of security or any member of the BBC Gardeners’ World Live team who will be pleased to help you. Alternatively contact the medical centre on 2222 using the internal telephone situated at the entrance to each hall.
