BBC Gardeners' World Live Young Landscapers Award

young landscapers award logo2020 will be the third year of this prestigious competition, the Young Landscapers Award, supported by the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL).

In this tough competition, four of the very best young landscapers in the country, all aged under 28, display their high calibre skills. Designed to champion young people and nurture emerging talent, the contenders work in pairs to build two challenging Show Gardens packed with landscaping elements.

Both Show Gardens are assessed by the BBC Gardeners’ World Live Show Garden Assessment Panel plus two dedicated judges from the WorldSkills Assessment Panel.

The four competing landscapers in 2020, who took the top spots at the WorldSkills UK finals in November 2019, are:

  • Nick Bundy from Gadd Brothers, Suffolk (WorldSkills UK Gold)
  • Patrick Neild from Pershore College (WorldSkills UK Highly Commended)

  • Jamie Franklin from Wiltshire College (WorldSkills UK Silver)
  • Mark Brown from Ireland from CAFRE Greenmount Campus, Northern Ireland (WorldSkills UK Bronze)
