We welcome visitors with disabilities to The NEC for BBC Gardeners’ World Live. Guide, assistance and hearing dogs are admitted into the show. The NEC has male and female wheelchair accessible toilets.

Free carer tickets

Any visitor who is registered disabled is able to book one free carer ticket when booking entry tickets. 

Please bring proof of eligibility with you to show on arrival such as a Blue Badge, Freedom Pass, DLA letter or PIP letter.

A VIP ‘Carer Upgrade’ ticket option is available for those booking VIP Tickets who’d like their carer to receive VIP added benefits, including glass of fizz and goody bag.

Accessible theatres

Spaces for wheelchair users, each with a dedicated carer seat, are available to book in the BBC Gardeners’ World Live Theatre. 

A sign language interpreter will be present in the BBC Gardeners’ World Live Theatre on Thursday and Saturday. Times to be confirmed.

Induction loops are fitted to Ticket sales points, Info points, the Organisers’ Office, Big Kitchen, BBC Gardeners’ World Live Theatre.

Drop-in stages, including the Let’s Talk Plants Stage and Get Growing Stage, have open space to the sides and front which can be used by wheelchair users.

Wheelchair and Scooter hire

The NEC has mobility equipment available to hire on a first come, first serve basis. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

A limited number of Manual Wheelchairs are free of charge for Blue Badge holders and £5 for all others. If you have your own, and are able to, please bring it with you.

Scooters cost £15 per hire.

Pre-bookings will be held until 11am on the day, unless otherwise advised. Remaining stock will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mobility equipment hire is only available during show open times and The NEC only accept payment by card.

Trains, cars and parking

The train station is Birmingham InternationalAccess to The NEC is via the skywalk, accessible to wheelchair users via ramps and lifts. 

The Atrium & piazza entrances have automatic doors.

Book pre-paid parking in advance (until the night before the Show opens) to secure the best rates, including Blue Badge disabled parking. Blue Badge parking closer to the halls. Follow directions when you arrive at The NEC.

Pre-paid parking will be available from February 2024, and all ticket holders will be notified when on sale.

If you pay on the day, parking tickets are purchased from machines for presentation on exit of the car park.

 Shuttle buses operate between the car parks and the Show.

Medical emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency please notify a member of security or any member of the BBC Gardeners’ World Live team who will be pleased to help you. Alternatively contact the medical centre on 2222 using the internal telephone situated at the entrance to each hall.
