To Anchor a Wild World: Through the eyes of a child with Autism
Designed by: Angie Tolley, The Barefoot Gardener
This Beautiful Border will showcase the benefits of sensory planting for a child with Autism, providing a safe retreat with calming plants.
Life with autism can seem unpredictable and chaotic. In such a tumultuous world, structure and order can provide a safety net and feeling of calm.
That’s where the wonderful benefits of gardening comes in. In this Border, outer areas will be planted with an orderly theme to symbolise the importance of routine. Musical grasses and soft textures will be also planted, to ground the visitor of the garden through using the senses.
Using scent, sound and touch, this garden will create stability and security: an anchor in a wild world.
