Play in the wildlife
Designed by: Jordan Dennis
‘Play in the wildlife’ is inspired by Jordan’s children who love the outdoors and is all about giving young people the ability to play and interact with the wildlife outdoors. The idea for the ‘Wild Life’ theme came from Jordan’s daughter’s love of bugs and anything creepy crawlies, as well as her interaction with outdoor spaces and play areas within their garden.
Over the past 10 years, there has been a decline in insects in our gardens, causing disruption to the ecosystems in our gardens. This has caused further disruption to the ecosystems within our gardens, especially with the increased use of artificial grasses and the removal of trees. Encouraging wildlife in the garden is important, for the wildlife itself, and for the young people in our lives exploring, playing and learning from it.
The areas created are from a natural corner of Jordan’s garden, with minimal effort in planting, but a large impact. This garden will be a creative and imaginative escape into a woodland setting, with a garden tepee and a woodland mushroom seating area to site and watch the insect space.
