Make It Flourish Together
Designed by Cara Thompson
This garden is a space Cara has made flourish together using many of the varieties sown during a weekly meet up and then taking them home to care for. The ‘Make It Flourish Together’ group, many of whom are complete beginners, started in April this year and is gratefully sponsored Mr Fothergills Seeds.
The design of this border garden is inspired by a riverbank walk to our community space in Great Dunmow. They wheel a wheelbarrow down a path with all their supplies where they sow seeds with their mission to ‘make it flourish together’. It has become a place to sow seeds of hope and there’s been much joy in the process.
The garden showcases the flourishing plants they have grown, and it is a garden to experience the joy of growing flowers. The planting is also inspired by her own garden, as she started growing for the first time during the national lock down. She grew my firstflowers which were Cosmos and Dahlias. Since growing her own flowers, she is now on a mission to share the joy she has found from making her garden flourish. This garden is a vision of our community garden escape which she hopes to make a permanent place for the whole community to enjoy and experience. A space to immerse yourself in nature, taking time to enjoy flower creations and all that is flourishing alongside our local wildlife
