The Urban Gardening Area will feature two inspirational urban themed Showcase Gardens designed by award-winning garden designer, Cherry Carmen. The gardens will be built in a competition format by World Skills UK winners Anna Mcloughlin with Ceri Furber, vs Aimee Copland with Jacob Mercer.

I’m Cherry Carmen, an experienced garden designer and horticulturalist based in West Sussex. I am RHS qualified and a member of the Association of Professional Landscapers.
I have always loved being in the great outdoors. Learning horticulture and working in gardens was a natural career move for me and I now have over a decade of experience designing, consulting on and maintaining gardens.I have designed medal-winning show gardens for the APL and Perennial – Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society for major shows such as RHS Hampton Court and BBC Gardeners World Live.
I have had my own garden design, consultation and maintenance business, Cherry Carmen Garden Design, since 2013 and do design and consultation work nationwide.
Away from the garden, I love walking my two dogs in the countryside.

Sustainable gardening

Whilst your garden might seem to already be very green, it can always be greener!

Discover ways you can make gardening more sustainable, like upcycling common items to make stylish features. What was a pallet, hessian bags, bits of pipe, and tin cans, could become a planter, grow bags, water features, and wildlife habitats.

Be inspired by the BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine editorial team as they’re joined by experts to give tips and advice.
