How to make the best-ever compost

(and take some home)

To help your plants grow big and strong, your plants need healthy food! Come to this workshop and learn how to make rich organic compost.

In this workshop, you will learn about:

• What happens to stuff when you bury them
• The role of worms, bugs and scavengers
• How compost helps your plants grow – a mini science lesson
• Making compost from kitchen scraps
• How to use the compost you make
• Potting a plant to take home.

What you will take home after the workshop:

• Compost in a compostable cup (ready to be planted straight into the soil in your garden)
• A plant that you potted.

Plants are cool and they have different personalities, just like people! Come and meet my plant friends, learn about them, and take a new friend home.

In this workshop, you will learn about:

• Different types of common houseplants
• Why they look different (e.g. why cheese plants are called cheese plants and why they have holes in their leaves)
• Relating the above to their natural habitat/geography
• How to look after a plant.
