Maggie's Sanctuary

Designed by Sparsholt College’s Garden Design Advanced Award Group

Sanctuary reflects the deliberate and permanent dialogue that exists between the centre’s interior and exterior. With the lines very much blurred, the design emulates the striking bold linear architecture through a three-sided structure that wraps round a hidden, secluded oasis. Vistas of various shapes and sizes entice the onlooker to navigate the structure with intrigue and curiosity.

Its inception highlights the fundamental practice that Maggie’s plays in supporting cancer patients and their loved ones. Offering a sense of stability and calm, sanctuary defines that important escape and place of refuge in a time of crisis and uncertainty. Planting inspired by neighbouring New Forest dresses the exhibit in striking tones associated with the charity.
