Fee Fi Fo Food!

A learning space that encourages children to fall in love with nature from a different point of view. Feasting and foraging is encouraged in this biodiverse living larder overflowing with easy-to-grow plants that look good in the garden as well as on the kitchen table. Showcasing a seasonal celebration of midsummer, this Beautiful Border features edible herbs, pollinator-friendly plants and fruit trees. Intended as part of a wider project for Cypress Primary School in South London, a borough where 40% of primary school pupils don’t have access to a private garden, the space encourages all generations of the community to connect and share their love of gardening and food.

The theme of 2024 is ‘Share my Space.’ The theme is all about harnessing the potential of small garden spaces and using them as catalysts for building a sense of community through gardening. Our gardens, no matter how big or small, are spaces we can come together, learn from one another and cultivate a shared green oasis.
